Album of the Year 2012

This year guitarist wise I’ve been listening to William Ash (earlier on in the year..I go in phases) for his Montgomery like chord soloing and big sound,  a serious amount of Adam Rogers; my favourite amongst all the contemporary players. These players albums weren’t released this year (except for Adam Rogers appearing on Clarence Penn’s “Dali in Cobble Hill”) so my jazz guitarist album of the year is Bobby Broom‘s “Upper West Side Story”. All originals, great sound, great execution and concept, all round great album. Love his style of composing which sounds structured yet free to repeat riffs and not sound contrived.  Check it out!
